Clay grew up near the Texas beaches and subsequently loves to surf and skate. He was first inspired by the skate graphics of the 80's and quickly fell in love with music and the art/design which portrayed his favorite bands. This naturally led to a passion for screen printing and gig posters. Clay earned a degree in Graphic Design from St. Edwards University, and is a long time, adept photographer with an eye for compelling composition.
Clay’s specialty work includes identity, branding, logos, album, poster, and apparel design. Stylistically, Clay is skilled with 1960's deco design, historical ornamental design, and hand drawn lettering mixed with unique, contemporary typography.
He first entered Rural Rooster’s doors in 2005 and has worked with artists that include Ben Kweller, Perry Ferrel, Michael Fracasso, Spacehog, and Stewart Mann.
